About the Book

After she’s violently attacked back in her hometown after her class reunion, Emily Saunders is the hot topic of conversation again, just when she was beginning to feel her husband’s death a few years earlier was no longer the big news item for everyone at church. The attack leaves her bruised and battered, struggling to remember the details of what happened—but then struggling to forget those details for good. What exactly happened that night? Emily returns home to Pittsburgh—to her children and to Peter, her new boyfriend from church—but finds herself worrying about everything that’s happened, everything that still might happen, and everything that will have to change because of a second pivotal day in her young life—a day on which everything changes.

About the Author
Linda M. Au

Linda M. Au shares her home in western Pennsylvania with three guinea pigs and her eternally patient engineer husband, Wayne Parker. She and Wayne share six grown children between them.

Linda's been a proofreader and typesetter for more than thirty years. With humor collections HEAD IN THE SAND and FORK IN THE ROAD, she climbed over the proverbial publishing desk to save for posterity the ridiculous (yet mundane) stuff that happens around her.

Another humor book, TRAIN OF THOUGHT: TRAVEL ESSAYS FROM A ONE-TRACK MIND, sprang from her bucket-list cross-country train trip in the spring of 2017.

Her real love, though, is writing fiction. THE SCARLET LETTER OPENER, a cozy mystery, was her first published novel, with many more novels in different fictional worlds to follow. Her slightly more serious women's fiction, GRAY AREA, is also available in paperback and Kindle formats. The next two books in this cozy series, The Red Ink Mysteries, will be available in summer 2019 (THE TELL-TALE HEART ATTACK) and autumn 2019 (CHARLOTTE'S WEBSITE).

SECRET AGENT MANNY, a humorous "spy" novel that started with a dare, is also now available.

When she's not writing, Linda is a writing coach for Write At Home, author liaison for the Beaver County BookFest in Pennsylvania, and a board member for the St. Davids Christian Writers' Association.

You can read Linda's stray thoughts at www.lindaau.com, or follow her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn. Or, you know, not. No pressure.
